Situated between Lewisham and Deptford, this sought after conservation area is made up of small workman cottages and 3/4 storey houses. It benefits from good transport links into central London (St John's) and Canary Wharf (Elverson Rd DLR). Brookmill Road is also a designated conservation area.
There are a number of designated conservation areas, including the St Johns, Brookmill and Hatcham Park Conservation areas.


Located approximately 6 miles from central London Deptford boasts a long and illustrious history. Both Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh (who was knighted here by Elizabeth I) both set sail on their most famous voyages from "Deep Ford", as it was then known. Deptford Broadway is also the site of Lewisham Borough's only battle when, in 1497, two thousand Cornishmen were killed during an uprising.Christopher Marlowe is also buried in an unmarked grave in the churchyard of St. Nicholas, Deptford after his murder in Deptford in 1593.
